My expertise in hip and knee joint replacement surgery-including all surgical approaches to the hip and knee, minimally and maximally invasive techniques, robotic-assisted surgery, and revision total joint arthroplasty-provides me with a broad toolkit to serve my patients. David Maxfield, M.D., is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee joint reconstruction. Dr. Maxfield treats patients with a spectrum of conditions, including fractures and general musculoskeletal issues. His specific clinical interests include the treatment of arthritis of the hip and knee through both minimally and maximally invasive surgical techniques, robotic-assisted surgery, and revision total joint arthroplasty. Dr. Maxfield received his Doctor of Medicine from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. After medical school, he completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Baylor College of Medicine in the prestigious Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. Following residency, he completed Fellowship training in Adult Hip and Knee Joint Reconstruction at the internationally renowned Florida Orthopaedic Institute in Tampa, Florida. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Maxfield has served as clinical faculty involved in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows. He has also authored multiple research studies published in national peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Maxfield is a member of the American Academy of Hip and Knee Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. In his free time, he enjoys personal fitness and playing the piano.
