He has been a full-time interventional pain specialist since 1995 and serves as an adjunct professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Schultz is a certified board examiner for ABIPP and a former board member and past president of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (ASIPP). He currently serves as Executive Director of the Minnesota Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the MN chapter of ASIPP. Over the years, he has taught numerous interventional pain courses as an instructor for ASIPP, the Spinal Intervention Society (SIS), Medtronic, and Abbott. He is also the founder of Nura Research Institute, a clinical research center conducting phase I-IV clinical studies across various therapeutic areas. Dr. Schultz is a prolific author of medical articles and book chapters, a frequent speaker at national meetings, and a principal investigator in pain research. Away from work, Dr. Schultz is an avid skier and mountain biker and participates in triathlons.
