Deborah Jones has been a Certified Nurse Practitioner in Women’s Health for more than 20 years. She has worked for years in several clinical environments, including private physicians’ offices, clinics, and hospitals. Her passion is teaching her diverse range of clientele, in order for them to change their lives through healthier living. She continues her education through multiple continuing education certifications. Prior to becoming a NP, she worked as a registered nurse in the antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, and neonatal units in various hospitals. In March of 1995, she completed the Masters Program in the Advanced Practice Nurse program in Women’s Health Care at Georgia State University (GSU). She completed her undergraduate Nursing degree from the State University of New York in 1987. Her original Bachelor’s degree is in Biology from Long Island University in New York. Deborah Jones is a wife, a mother, and an active member in her church community. She enjoys sewing, crafts, and outdoor festivals.

I had a very pleasant visit today with Dr.Jones. I needed a physical and had some health concerns going on and her openings fit my schedule. I’m always very nervous and anxious to see a new doctor but she was so sweet and really put my mind at ease. She was the first doctor I’ve seen in a long time that actually asked me questions about my health and lifestyle and really listened. I wish all doctors were like her!

I had a virtual appointment and did not go into the office. These questions mostly pertained to an office visit. The doctor was great. The WiFi gave us a lot of mishaps.

I did not see the provider. I actually saw the OB Dr. Martinez. I also scheduled this appointment and was asked when I got there why I came. I didn’t like that. I was also told they normally don’t remove IUD’s for new patients. Something that someone should of told me. I’ll give them a chance. It’s hard to find a good doctor these days. I was sent to get an ultrasound so I’ll update this on my next visit.

My waitroom wait was maybe half an hour. After I got into the examination room, I was advised to get undressed and that I would be seen momentarily. I waited for an hour in the air conditioned room with the paper covers that were provided for an hour before someone stuck her head in and said she would be right back. After another 15 minutes she came back in. She did not introduce herself but it did not appear to be Deborah Jones who I booked with. After asking me how long it has been for a visit (5years) she proceeded to do the breast examination and pelvic exam. She did not at amy point ask for consent or advise me what was happening. Upon inserting the speculum I was given no warning at all. I had come in for some discomfort I was having. She briefly asked me about it and dismissed it when I said I wasn't having pain during sex, even when I told her I was having pain not during sex. After asking me about birth control, I advised her we use condomsm she proceeded to give me options of other birth control. When I told her I was not interested in other forms and I was fine with condoms she remarked "I am sure your husband doesn't always want to use condoms". She also remarked on my age (38) several times in regards to a reason I should be on birth control even after I told her I am not decided yet on not having more children. Mind you, I was in because of an issue I was having and not about birth control. All in all, after I recieve my results, I will not be going back. I believe if someone has gotten a pap smear once or 10 times they should be some bedside manner and one of those things includes giving someone a heads up to the process when you are putting your hands on another person.
