Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
MO
At Transformed Psychiatric Wellness, I provide compassionate, personalized integrative psychiatric care for adolescents (13+), adults, couples, and ministry leaders experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, mood disorders, burnout, ADHD, and other mental health concerns. Integrative psychiatry looks beyond symptoms to address the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual factors that influence emotional well-being. My approach combines comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, thoughtful medication management, trauma-informed psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, lifestyle and nutritional interventions, and functional lab testing when appropriate. Every treatment plan is individualized to help you better understand your symptoms, restore balance, and support lasting mental wellness. I believe medication is one tool—not the only tool—for healing. My practice does not prescribe controlled medications, including stimulant medications for ADHD or benzodiazepines for anxiety. Instead, I work with patients to identify effective, evidence-based treatment options, including non-controlled medications that can provide significant relief for ADHD, anxiety, and other mental health conditions while avoiding many of the risks associated with controlled substances. My goal is to create a warm, judgment-free environment where you feel heard, respected, and actively involved in your care. For those who desire it, I also offer Christian faith integration, thoughtfully incorporating biblical principles into treatment while respecting each person's beliefs and values. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, or simply don't feel like yourself anymore, I'm here to help you find hope, healing, and practical solutions for lasting change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe the best mental health care treats the whole person—not just the symptoms. As an integrative psychiatric nurse practitioner, I take time to understand the biological, psychological, social, and, when desired, spiritual factors that may be contributing to your concerns. My goal is to provide thoughtful, personalized care that combines evidence-based psychiatry with psychotherapy, lifestyle interventions, and medication when appropriate. Our first appointment is a comprehensive evaluation designed to understand your story, not just assign a diagnosis. Together, we'll develop a treatment plan that aligns with your goals and values. I want every client to feel heard, respected, and actively involved in decisions about their care. Please note: My practice does not prescribe controlled medications, including stimulant medications for ADHD (such as Adderall®, Vyvanse®, or Ritalin®), benzodiazepines for anxiety (such as Xanax®, Ativan®, or Klonopin®), or opioid medications for opioid use disorder (such as Suboxone®). I do, however, provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and offer evidence-based, non-controlled treatment options that are often highly effective for ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use disorder, and many other mental health conditions. For clients who desire it, I also offer Christian faith integration, thoughtfully incorporating biblical principles into treatment while always respecting each person's beliefs and values.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Getting started is simple. After you schedule your appointment through Zocdoc, you'll receive a confirmation email from Transformed Psychiatric Wellness with your appointment details and an invitation to our secure patient portal. Please complete all intake forms and upload your insurance and/or payment information through the patient portal at least 12 hours before your appointment. Completing your paperwork in advance allows me to review your history so we can spend our time together focusing on your concerns rather than administrative details. If you're using insurance, you'll also receive an email from Headway, the secure platform that manages insurance verification and billing for my practice. Please follow the instructions to create your Headway account and verify your insurance coverage before your appointment. This helps ensure your benefits are confirmed and minimizes delays or unexpected billing issues. Your first appointment is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation where we'll discuss your symptoms, medical and mental health history, current concerns, and treatment goals. Together, we'll develop an individualized treatment plan that may include psychotherapy, medication when appropriate, lifestyle recommendations, and other evidence-based interventions designed to support your long-term mental wellness.
