“I have been seeing Debbie Owen through this service for well over a year now. I love the personalized care I am able to obtain through these meetings. I have learned so much. Debbie really listens and has been so instrumental in helping me to improve my diabetes and understand how the food really affects my sugar. She has taught me how to mix foods properly, ie, protein and carbs, to help control my sugar levels, something that as a diabetic for 25 years, hadn't heard or learnt until working with her. She is fabulous. Also her availability is great. Very flexible and able to fit into my schedule when I can meet. I highly recommend this group!”

Debbie has been a dietitian for 28 years, providing medical nutrition therapy to individuals with hypertension, diabetes, eating disorders, bariatric surgery, hyperlipidemia, cancer, and food sensitivities. She loves teaching people how to make simple lifestyle changes that lead to a greater quality of life.

One of Debbie's strengths is her ability to teach vital health information in an engaging way. She has experience teaching classes in weight management, pulmonary disease, corporate wellness, faith-based weight loss, general nutrition for college students, various renal topics, and menu planning. Debbie's clients benefit from the wealth of knowledge she shares.

Debbie earned her Bachelor's degree in Dietetics from Marywood University in Scranton, PA. She is licensed in North Carolina and has extensive experience teaching courses on various nutrition topics.

Debbie moved from Upstate New York to North Carolina in September 2020. She lives with her husband and two dogs in Asheboro and looks forward to exploring the state. She's been married for 28 years. (Fun fact: Debbie met her husband at a roller skating rink as a teenager!) She has two grown children and enjoys yoga, meditation, camping, and traveling with her husband.

Debbie is a kind and caring provider. She is sensitive to people with eating disorders and takes a positive approach to change. After getting my food sensitivity test and finding out what foods were making me sick, my life has changed for the better. I'm forever grateful for all the help she's given me.

Debbie is fantastic, collaborative in her approach, and always encouraging. She really focuses on solutions that work and never criticizes. I find myself looking forward to my meetings with her as it's time dedicated to talking about food, brainstorming about solutions to problems, and talking about what works and what doesn't.
