What should a new client know about working with you?
As a PMHNP-BC, I provide compassionate and evidence-based clinical care across the lifespan to patients with mood disorders, psychotic disorders, developmental disabilities, and chronic mental illness. I provide a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, accurate diagnosis, treatment goals and options, psychotherapy and medication intervention and monitoring as needed. I am passionate in establishing therapeutic alliance with patients, providing individualized treatment plan, suicide prevention, addressing relationship health, interprofessional collaboration, and promoting recovery. I advocate for patients' empowerment by educating them on how to manage their mental health and thrive in a stigma free society.
I work with skilled interdisciplinary team members including experienced clinicians to provide a holistic mental health care, by integrating biological, psychological, and psychosocial factors, in a handicapped accessible environment.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
I provide a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, accurate diagnosis, and treatment goals and options in the form of talk therapy and medication management.
Talk therapy is a type of psychotherapy that includes cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, humanistic therapy, gestalt therapy, holistic or integrative therapy, interpersonal therapy, and psychoanalysis. During talk therapy, patients discuss their ideas, emotions, and behaviors with a therapist. Talk therapy usually lasts 60 minutes, during which time, the therapist listens to the patient and guides the conversation.
The main objective is to assist people in recognizing and comprehending the problems—such as anxiety, depression, marital troubles, or trauma—that are causing them emotional pain/distress. It offers a private and secure setting where people may express themselves and overcome obstacles.
When the patient or therapist feel that the patient will benefit from a combination of therapy and medication interventions, I provide further comprehensive evaluation based on subjective symptoms that the patient is reporting. I further perform an objective clinical assessment based on my observations and make an accurate diagnosis of the patient mental disorder. I educate the patient on the different psychotropic medications available, as well as their side effects, and prescribe appropriate medication that will help relieve the patient's symptoms.

DeeDee is very kind and super hardworking! Had a prescription problem and she was ON IT, took a while talking to pharmacies and met with me several times to make sure all was sorted out.

Deedee was so excellent and so kind!! She was very empathetic to my struggle with ADHD and she helped me troubleshoot and discuss the right medication. I have been on this medication for a week and I feel so much better. Highly recommend!!!
I know we still need to work on the right dosage etc. but I feel cared for and like I have the right PNP!
