About Deirdra Tiffany

Deirdra's passion for weight management grew out of her experience caring for patients in primary care from a wide range of backgrounds. She recognized that concerns about weight and metabolic health were common, yet discussions were often reduced to brief, oversimplified recommendations at the end of an office visit. Wanting to provide more meaningful, comprehensive care, she developed a special interest in medical weight management. More than six years ago, Deirdra began prescribing GLP-1 medications for patients with diabetes. She has been excited to witness the evolution of obesity medicine, including the expansion of safe, effective treatment options that have made care more accessible and personalized for her patients. Deirdra believes that obesity is a chronic, relapsing disease that deserves compassionate, evidence-based treatment tailored to the individual. She is passionate about partnering with patients to create sustainable, personalized care plans and finds it especially rewarding to see how medical weight management can improve not only physical health, but also overall quality of life. Deirdra earned her Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology and Physiology from the University of Maryland before completing both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing at The George Washington University. Outside of work, Deirdra enjoys cooking, cycling, practicing yoga, and spending time with her fiancé and dog.
