Getting to know Deja Adams

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) based in Maryland, dedicated to supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, ADHD, behavioral challenges, and women’s health concerns. With a Master of Science in Nursing from Frontier Nursing University and experience in both community mental health clinics and private practice, I provide telehealth care that blends medication management with supportive psychotherapy and evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness techniques.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is holistic and patient-centered—I see each person as more than a diagnosis. I consider emotional, mental, and lifestyle factors to create a personalized plan that promotes lasting wellness. In our sessions, I cultivate a collaborative, judgment-free space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. Together, we explore practical strategies, emotional support, and tools to navigate life’s challenges while prioritizing your privacy and safety.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During our initial session, I work to understand your full mental health picture, including history, medical background, support systems, and current concerns. From there, we develop a tailored plan, which may include medication, therapy, or referrals. Follow-up sessions focus on tracking progress, adjusting treatment as needed, and strengthening coping strategies. My ultimate goal is to help you build resilience, stability, and a greater sense of emotional well-being.
