Denise Allen, MS, RD, CD, is a Registered Dietitian with a lifelong interest in nutrition and health. After working in social service positions for several years, Denise observed the significant impact nutrition has on health, which fueled her passion for pursuing nutrition further. She earned a Bachelor's degree from Western Washington University and then a Master's in Nutrition from Bastyr University. Following graduation, Denise focused on working with individuals with eating disorders, diabetes, and chronic kidney disease. She began her nutrition career with the goal of gaining knowledge and skills to assist individuals in achieving their nutrition goals. Denise has provided nutrition education and support to individuals and groups with a variety of health issues and nutrition objectives. She is currently working in an eating disorder partial hospitalization program. Her other main areas of experience include diabetes education and supporting individuals receiving dialysis. With over 15 years in the nutrition field, Denise has also worked with those managing food allergies, digestive issues, general health improvement, plant-based diets, and bariatric surgery recovery. Denise seeks to support individuals as part of their healthcare team. She meets people where they are in their health, knowledge, and goals, believing that all foods fit and that individuals can determine the nutrition plan that best supports them. Her goal is to educate individuals to help them feel more in control of their nutrition needs. Additionally, her approach provides caring and realistic nutrition plans. Denise currently lives north of Spokane, WA. She and her husband enjoy the outdoors and spending time with their three grandsons. She is also looking forward to learning about gardening and growing her own garden.
