About Dr. Deon Wolpowitz

Dr. Wolpowitz received his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons where he earned membership into the Alpha Omega Medical Honor Society. In addition to his M.D. degree, he earned a Ph.D in Neuroscience from the Center for Neurobiology and Behavior at Columbia University. Dr. Wolpowitz completed his internship in internal medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital and residency in the Boston University/Tufts Combined Dermatology Residency Program, where he was honored to serve as chief resident. He then completed a fellowship in dermatopathology at Boston University.
Dr. Wolpowitz enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. His hobbies include gardening, listening to classical music, and playing hockey.

“Wow that’s a lot of sun damage!” - probably not how any patient wants to be addressed by a provider as they enter the room and a great way to make sure someone does not adhere to yearly skin checks in the future.

A phenomenal doctor. I arrived in critical condition and felt immediately cared for. Would highly recommend for anyone suffering from severe eczema. We quickly found a path forward and he was very sympathetic to my condition and the cost of medications/treatments.

I was taken in on time and did not have to wait for my appointment. Dr. Wolpowitz was very thorough in his examination, answered all my questions and concerns, made suggestions, and took time to educate. Good bedside manner. He had two assistants/scribes with him which I liked because it allowed for more patient-provider interaction. Definitely will be coming back!

Excellent experience. Having skin cancer is a serious situation for me. My previous Drs from another practice, which is closer to my home, took a cavalier approach; no big deal, wait and see attitude.
Dr Deon Wopowitz was outstanding! He spent the time needed with me. He provided explanations and addressed all my concerns. My intent to seeing him was for a second opinion, but decided to make him my primary. It's worth the 75 minute ride to see him.

I felt like the appointment was very rushed. The doctor was quick to dismiss my prior medical care for my condition by other specialists, and then described the same tests that I had already done. When I then explained again that I had already had those tests done, he was surprised but again a bit dismissive of the results (even though he was about to offer the very same test). I didn't get to ask/have answered all my questions before he had to move onto the next patient. He did prescribe me something to clear up my condition, but I didn't feel like he gave me any time or thought to figure out what has been causing it.

I would strongly recommend Dr. Wolpowitz! i came in for a relatively minor issue, but he still took his time asking questions and explaining my treatment options.
I particularly appreciated that he was very upfront about what the costs of the different treatment options would be. It's very rare that a doctor acknowledges how expensive healthcare can be; to not only acknowledge what costs I should expect, but then also give recommendations for other treatment options if said costs weren't acceptable (all without any pushing or asking on my part) was truly a revolutionary experience.

All of the staff are friendly, hardworking, and well educated/trained.
Dr Wolopwitz took time ,a methodical approach listened to my symptoms of a long term dermatitis situation. On a first visit, he outlined scenarios and options suggested 5 action tasks to take that was agreeable to me and him. These initial tasks for treating the dermatitis appear to be having positive results within first week.

The office is quite nice and I was seen right away- that was a big plus! I got more than 5 mins with the doctor which is rare with derms, so I did appreciate his commitment and thorough explanations of proposed treatments. However, he was condescending and tried to explain how female cycles work, to a woman who's been having periods for a long time now. Other than that, it was a good experience and I'm looking forward to continuing the treatment.

Dr Wolpowitz was very patient, listens to you and tries to get to the root cause of the issue. He wanted to know why I showed up in the first place and any concerns I have got which made me visit. He was very thorough in inspection. He was very knowledgeable and gives out the options to treat an ailment and doesn't just jump in to prescribe the strongest medicine right away.
