Dr. Derek Sun is one of the top cardiologists in New York City and among the best in the country. He is passionate about helping his patients, who come from all walks of life, and takes his greatest satisfaction from seeing them recover and lead improved, healthy lives. Originally from Shanghai, China, Dr. Sun loves NYC and feels perfectly at home here. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Drexel University, completed his residency in Internal Medicine at George Washington University Hospital, and took his fellowship in Cardiology at the University of Florida in Jacksonville. Additionally, he holds a PhD in Physiology from the University of Michigan. Dr. Sun is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, with a special certification in Cardiovascular Disease. He is pleased to conduct appointments in English, Greek, or several Chinese dialects.
