Getting to know Destiny Refuse
Ms. Destiny Refuse is a certified adult psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner. She provides virtual visits at Denori Psychiatry LLC. Ms. Refuse earned her Bachelor's degree from St. Petersburg College and a Master's in Nursing (MSN) from Walden University. She is affiliated with Windmoor Healthcare.
During consultations, Ms. Refuse thoroughly explains patients' conditions and helps them select a suitable treatment plan. She listens carefully to each patient's concerns and works to create a long-lasting, trustworthy partnership to maintain and improve overall health.

What should a new client know about working with you?
After booking your appointment on Zocdoc. The provider will reach out to you with a booking link to verify insurance within the first hour of booking. The patient will need to complete booking link which will be sent by provider to email on file. The provider will also send you an invite for telehealth platform which will be used to conduct the virtual visit.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
During our first session: An comprehensive psychiatric assessment will be conducted. This involves gathering information about an patient's presenting problem, psychiatric history, medical history, family history, social support system, and any other relevant factors. The assessment may also include standardized tests and questionnaires.
Diagnosis: Based on the information gathered during the assessment, a diagnoses will be given.This diagnosis guides the development of a personalized treatment plan tailored to the patient's needs and goals.
Medication management: If medication is deemed necessary as part of the treatment plan. I will discuss the available medication options with the patient, including the potential benefits, risks, and side effects of each medication. The provider will prescribe medication and provide instructions for its use, as well as monitor the patient's response to the medication over time.
Psychotherapy: In addition to medication management, the treatment plan may also include psychotherapy or counseling.
Ongoing Monitoring and Adjustment: Treatment is typically an ongoing process, which will require provider to monitors the client's progress regularly, either through follow-up appointments. Depending on how the patient is responding to treatment, adjustments may be made to the medication regimen, psychotherapy approach, or other aspects of the treatment plan as needed.
