Getting to know Destiny Shugrue

Destiny provides compassionate care to adults navigating anxiety, depression, insomnia, difficulty concentrating, trauma, and other mental health challenges. With a focus on collaboration, she works closely with each patient to understand their unique needs, explore solutions, and achieve their personal wellness goals. Destiny holds a Master's in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Husson University, which informs her comprehensive approach to care. While medication management is the cornerstone of Destiny's practice, she also integrates psychotherapy when appropriate, offering a holistic approach to healing for patients who seek it. Whether you're struggling with day-to-day stress or complex emotional experiences, Destiny creates a safe, supportive space for your mental health journey. Her holistic, integrative approach to treatment considers how your lifestyle and environment may impact you mentally and emotionally. She will help you identify triggers, patterns, and overall emotional cycles that contribute to your symptoms, including making lifestyle changes through coaching and collaboration. If you feel stuck in patterns you don't quite understand and want to level up your life, and if you are motivated to become your most whole, authentic self, reach out and schedule an initial session.

What should a new client know about working with you?

At the end of our first session, we will have co-created a treatment plan which may include medications for mental health symptoms and/or lifestyle/habit changes. In the beginning stages, we may meet once a week or every other week to discuss symptom reduction and evaluate treatment goals. I like to assign projects to work on in-between appointments, such as journaling prompts or mindfulness exercises, when appropriate.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
