I’ve been in nursing for 10 years and completed my psychiatric training at Alverno College. What should a new client know about working with you?

PLEASE NOTE, I’M IN-NETWORK WITH AETNA, ANTHEM, BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD, MEDICARE, OXFORD, AND UNITED HEALTHCARE. I DO NOT ACCEPT MEDICAID. My therapeutic style is characterized by compassionate, patient-centered care that recognizes the individuality of every person I treat. I combine evidence-based clinical practice with a warm, collaborative style, creating a safe environment where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered. My treatment philosophy emphasizes holistic assessment, thoughtful medication management, and supportive psychotherapy tailored to each patient’s needs. I strive to build strong therapeutic relationships, promote resilience, and partner with patients in developing practical, sustainable strategies for mental well-being. I chose to pursue a career as a psychiatric nurse practitioner to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of mental health care and to address the profound impact psychiatric conditions have on individuals, families, and communities. Through my clinical experiences, I recognized a compelling need for practitioners who can integrate comprehensive assessment, evidence-based treatment, and compassionate support. This role enables me to combine clinical expertise with a commitment to advocacy, continuity of care, and the promotion of long-term mental wellness. Starting treatment can be a scary and intimidating process, I’ve successfully treated many people who are new to psychiatric care.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Booking Process: Request your appointment time on Zocdoc. My office will email you an online intake form to ensure I’m able to help you. If we’re a fit, we’ll reach out to confirm an appointment time. I try my best to keep slots available each week for new clients. Your First Visit: The initial session is a comprehensive, one-hour evaluation which allows me to understand your current symptoms and difficulties, and learn about important aspects of your past psychiatric, medical, social, educational, and family histories. At the end of the session, we’ll determine the best treatment course. Session frequency ranges from weekly to monthly depending on the type of treatment you’re looking for. If you’re already seeing a therapist, I’m happy to collaborate with them while guiding the medication aspect of your treatment. However, many of my clients see me for both therapy and medication management. My practice, Lavender Psychiatry, is founded and fueled by board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioners who create therapeutic journeys that are kind, convenient and transparent so that people can flourish. We have a fantastic team that works together to ensure our clients are well taken care of. This includes our care concierge team who is available 7 days a week between your appointments, to help answer questions and assist with any issues regarding coverage and prescriptions etc. We also have covering providers in case I’m away and an urgent matter arises. I look forward to meeting you and helping you in your journey to a brighter future!

Out-of-pocket fees and assistance
  • Files your insurance claim: You pay the session fee upfront and the provider files the claim for you, so you can get reimbursed directly without worrying about the paperwork
  • Charges post-reimbursement amount: This provider will only charge you for the amount you pay after you get reimbursed from your insurance plan, so you don’t need to pay the session fee upfront
