About Dimitri Ghecas
I began my healthcare career in 1993 as a Physical Therapist in hospital and outpatient Orthopedics. After several years of practice, I fell in love with primary care and attended the Drexel University PA program in Philadelphia. Upon completing my medical training at Drexel, I practiced primary care/internal medicine in Connecticut for more than 21 years while working part-time in Emergency Medicine, Orthopedics and Urgent Care.
The majority of my primary care experience was as Practice Administrator and chief PA of a large, independent Internal Medicine and Cardiology group in rural Connecticut. In this role, I gained a deep understanding and appreciation of the importance of patient-provider relationships built on respect, trust and communication.
While I love all aspects of primary care and family medicine, my special interests are Preventative Cardiology and helping patients to reduce their risk for premature cardiovascular disease and diabetes. I also enjoy primary care Orthopedics.
My goal is to use my experience and enthusiasm for helping people to build healthy and effective primary care relationships and to make Heart and Health a welcoming, safe primary care home for you and your family.
