Dr. Dimitry Likterev was born in Kiev, Ukraine, and moved to the United States as a child. He grew up in Milwaukee, attended high school there, and went on to the University of Wisconsin for his undergraduate studies. He then attended the National University of Health Sciences, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Human Biology and his Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Dr. Likterev developed his interest in chiropractic medicine while in college, after being treated by a chiropractor for a motorcycle injury. His passion for natural medicine and sports rehabilitation also led him to extensive studies in neurology, acupuncture, and Kinesio Taping, in which he is certified and a member of KTAI. He is also certified in and practices manipulation under anesthesia (MUA). Additionally, Dr. Likterev utilizes the latest treatment and assessment tools available, such as Flexion-Distraction tables and Foot Levelers orthotic supports. Dr. Likterev has volunteered and worked as a sports chiropractor at numerous events, including the World Swimming Championship in Gothenburg, Sweden. There, his athlete, Vlad Pyshnenko, won gold medals in all three events he participated in: the 50m, 100m, and 200m freestyle. Today, after many years in practice, Dr. Likterev continues to read, attend seminars, and pursue clinical excellence by staying current with any information that might benefit his patients.
