Getting to know Dmitriy Reznik

Every 5th American meets the diagnostic criteria for a mental health condition. Many people in my inner circle have also experienced these conditions. You may be able to relate. Achieving optimal well-being is more than just symptom management. It means setting priorities and goals, engaging in life, finding meaning and community, and feeling satisfied and effective. I began my medical education at Lviv National Medical University in Ukraine. I received my Physician Assistant education in the largest community health medical system in Chicago, where I was trained in real-world outpatient settings-rather than hospitals. I helped clients in underserved communities, and it taught me to take on complex problems. Since 2006, I have been treating patients in a variety of clinical settings, including clinics, hospitals, and long-term care facilities. At one point in my career, I started working at the intersection of Psychiatry and Pain Management, which gave me a unique perspective on the needs of patients suffering from both chronic pain and mental illness. This provider's Primary Supervising Physician is Kalvon Kapoor.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I specialize in working with Adults: - Young professionals - Healthcare workers - First responders - Skilled trades I focus on helping individuals struggling with perfectionism, low self-worth, and burnout achieve a more balanced and joyful life. I take a holistic approach to treatment, drawing on my experience working with the LGBTQI community, people of color, and those who have made the US their second home.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

What about diagnoses and labels? When it comes to a diagnosis or labels, I look to all the data that encompasses your medical, personal, and family history. Taking into account diagnoses and syndromes, I take a dimensional approach, looking at clusters of symptoms that speak to underlying circuitry and inform priorities. This helps me to understand and better ascertain the details pertinent to you and your unique situation. A fear of taking medications. Clients often voice a fear of taking medications due to potential weight gain or a change in their level of mental acuity or personality. I sympathize with the feelings of uncertainty and wasted time from medications that do not work. I will endeavor to provide integrative and traditional options that fit with your values, making your comfort priority and include you in the process. Ultimately, the chosen solution needs to meet your goals and expectations without issue. How Often Do We Meet? Following an initial assessment, visits generally take place at approximately monthly intervals - in accordance with your current interventions. They are not “ just refills” – visits involve significant education in every area of health in which you have interest. These visits include monitoring, instruction, and assessment of change, as well as other important aspects of health. Follow-up visits involve substantial education on topics of interest. I also account for health promotion and disease prevention, as well as setting up actionable foundations for health. Appropriate protocols and resources can be provided. For those whose condition becomes stable, visits typically occur every 3 months. What about disability paperwork? Having worked for years for the largest provider of public transportation in North America I have a profound knowledge of state and federal disability regulations and know how to navigate FMLA, disability claims, and reasonable accommodation requests.

Can I Use My Insurance? Seeing an out-of-network provider, such as myself, allows for ample time to focus on your complete treatment plan. Depending on your preferences, my office can either submit a claim to your insurance or provide you with a superbill. You will be able to easily trace the status of the claim with the use of an app. Working outside of your network offers great benefits, including: - Accessibility: visits can be as lengthy or frequent as is necessary - Privacy: your records are totally confidential and will never be disclosed without your permission – they are not subject to scrutiny - More investment: I can invest more resources in you, with activities many practices omit - Time to further my understanding through studying and formulating new treatment protocols
