Dr. Erick is a dedicated Nurse Practitioner with a passion for helping patients not only access quality care but also achieve mental and emotional stability. He incorporates motivational interviewing into his practice to support meaningful and lasting change. Dr. Erick values working with both individual clients and their families, ensuring a holistic and compassionate approach to care. Dr. Erick holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Chamberlain University, Addison; a Master’s in Family Health Nursing from City University of New York, Lehman College; a Bachelor’s degree from Chamberlain University, Addison; and a Certificate in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from the University of Massachusetts Global. As a doctoral-prepared Family Health Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, he leverages the nursing model to bring a holistic approach to medicine and psychiatry. What is your typical process for working with clients?

PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING! ***Please Answer Your Phone (s) and check your email after booking an appointment to complete INTAKE. I will call you on the phone after you book to speak with you to understand your reason for seeking care and understand your needs. I will email you intake paperwork that should be completed at least 48 hours before your appointment with me. ***While I would love to have you as a patient , I ask that you DO NOT reserve an appointment with me if you do not plan to respect it. My time is valuable and so is yours. If you change your mind about an appointment request, I respectfully ask that you CANCEL your request. This would allow another potential client the opportunity to book with me for that time slot. I DO NOT OVERBOOK. If you reserve a time slot, it is FOR YOU ALONE, unless you cancel. Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation !! Typically, during our initial meeting, I inquire about reason for seeking care, past history, treatment trials and response to past treatments, current symptoms and goals for treatment. I also provide evidence based recommendations for medications when indicated. I provide medication teaching and offer clients the option to take time in deciding what treatment part to follow. This may sometime mean scheduling a second meeting before prescribing medications. I prescribe medications during initial visits for clients who are ready and willing to pursue this route. Every client is unique, so what happens during the initial and subsequent meeting is solely based on clients goals for treatment and readiness. I also provide supportive counseling during meetings. I make referrals to other healthcare disciplines as indicated.

Dr. Erick has been extraordinary. My first appointment was with a psychiatrist was very nerve-wrecking. I came in with a lot of hesitation, trust issues, and Google knowledge. However, Dr. Erick reassured me, took time to answer all my questions in detail, and made an effort to know about me personally. My first few months with my medication switch paired with a full time job and therapy was very rough. It was a dark time and I had to be honest with myself and readjust my lifestyle and slow things down. Dr. Erick reminded me of this and met me at whatever level of progress and emotion I was feeling the given day. He gave me encouragement, he gave me facts, and put a will in me to see things through. 6 months in the journey now and I’m soooo much better on this other side. Dr. Erick has been a great force in this all for me. Always professional and communicative, he’s the guy you want to work with. It all starts with trust, and I can proudly say I trust this great and kind soul.
