Getting to know Dolores Suzansky
Are you struggling with symptoms of depression, anxiety, or going through a challenging period in your life? Have your symptoms persisted despite multiple medication trials without success? I am Dolores Suzansky (MSN, RN, APN, PMHNP-BC, RNC-NIC), a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner working with clients to manage symptoms via psychopharmacology. I also have twenty years of experience as an RN supporting parents of babies in the NICU and mothers during the peripartum period. I work with adolescent, adult, and older adult clients.
My compassion is shaped by my professional experience and my personal journey as a mother of twins and caregiver to aging parents. I provide culturally competent, compassionate, judgment-free care where every client feels heard, respected, and supported in achieving their mental health goals.
In consideration of clients’ busy schedules, and family and work responsibilities, I offer telemedicine and can schedule virtual appointments for routine and follow-up care. I look forward to helping you live in a more productive and meaningful way. My goal is to integrate positive and effective treatments to help you meet these goals.
What should a new client know about working with you?
My approach is evidence-based, personalized, and collaborative. I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication management while considering each client's symptoms, medical history, lifestyle, and treatment goals. I believe the best outcomes occur when clients are active participants in their care. I work closely with each individual to monitor progress, make suitable medication adjustments when needed, and support long-term mental wellness. When appropriate, I encourage integrating medication management with psychotherapy to provide the most comprehensive care.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
During your first appointment, we will spend time getting to know one another. I will complete a thorough psychiatric evaluation, discuss your current symptoms, medical and mental health history, previous treatments, and what you hope to achieve through care. Together, we will develop an individualized treatment plan, discuss treatment options, and answer any questions you may have. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, informed, and hopeful about the path forward.
