About Dr. Dominic Catanese
Dominic J. Catanese, DPM, FACFAS, is a board-certified podiatrist specializing in the medical and surgical treatment of foot disorders. In addition to serving as the Chief of Podiatric Surgery, Dr. Catanese is also the Podiatric Medicine Residency Program Director at Montefiore and Montefiore Mount Vernon as well as an Assistant Professor at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Dr. Catanese received his medical degree from Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his residency at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey and Hoboken University Medical Center in Hoboken, New Jersey.

the elevator was very difficult different floors was told 10 th floor by zocdoc when it was 11th floor none of my information i filled out ahead of time was transferred to office. However, the office, staff and Dr. Cantanese was exceptional. Will highly recommend.

This is a very friendly office. You can tell that the staff likes working together with how they communicate and get along. The doctor's assistance was very pleasant as she took my vitals. The office staff was wonderful. The doctor was dismissive. poorly communicated his thought process and has an overall bad temperament . He wouldnt allow me to share my ideas calmly, he snapped at me if I tried to insist on continuing my thoughts I barely got out and was told "end of discussion", besides offering some basic foot care as a solution, which I explained I have been doing, refused any further exploratory options while in the same breath saying he doesnt know my issues since there werent any obvious observable signs of foot problems. Made several unfavorable comments towards my insurance and I had to discuss my autoimmune history and request a referral while he was standing in the hall. He suggested my pain can be psychological and I can "foot model" again mocking my pain. If you have obvious issues hes fine in a pinch. Not if you need in depth care. Was able to get an xray which is done nicely at the office and reviewed the same day. Foot measurements are not done here.

Other than having to wait longer than I wanted to because I had to complete additional paperwork my appointment went well. Dr Catanese knew right away what was the issue with my nails. He listened patiently and was diligent. The office was a bit overcrowded but but the care I received made up for it.

...Geting into the very busy Metro medical center
does require some patience as does taking two elevators to see the doctor on the 11th floor.
However,for a yearly exam I guess I can put up with a few minor issues.

Parking was free so great to start. The office was clearly identified and easy to find in an otherwise overwhelming medical center. The staff was friendly and courteous, they were patient and very knowledgeable. I had recent change with my insurance, they were able to help transition my coverage with little problem. The office was busy, but the front staff was expediting everything out. When I was called in , the rooms were clean and the staff was extremely friendly. The doctor came in shortly after I was placed in an exam room. He was extremely informative and very detailed in the recommendations for the pain I was having. I feel very fortunate to have been seen by him and having services with their dedication available locally to me. Will definitely come back if needed. All while all safety protocols were being practiced by every staff member I saw and interacted with, making my choice to stay local even more reassuring.
