The visit was extremely thorough, informative and friendly from the front desk, to the Physician's Assistant to Dr. Nickson. The only reason I said I would probably recommend him is because this was the first visit of what will likely be a somewhat long process. The first visit was excellent.

Next Step Orthopedics founder, Dominique A. Nickson, M.D., is dedicated to comprehensive foot and ankle care in the Frisco, McKinney, Allen and Plano areas. His extensive skills and experience -- combined with a personal commitment to each of his patients – undoubtedly set him apart. "I look at my patients as family members," Dr. Nickson says. "I try to provide the same care to each patient that I would want my wife, children and other family members to receive."
Dr. Nickson received a Doctorate in Medicine at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, with special emphasis on orthopedic-general surgery. He completed his fellowship and residency training at the State University of New York at Brooklyn. Prior to this, Dr. Nickson received a B.A. degree in biology from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
Dr. Nickson's impressive history of training and experience includes service with the U.S. Military during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2005 at the 344th Combat Support Hospital in Camp Bucca, Basrah, Iraq, to serving as the team physician for the James Madison High School football team in Brooklyn, New York. During his off-hours, Dr. Nickson enjoys reading, tennis, golf, weight-lifting, travel and any time spent with his family.

Very nice office, quick check in and short wait time. Ortho PA quickly took my info and X-Ray's. Dr. Nickson came in promptly afterwards and reviewed images and scheduled additional imaging test. Very nice and knowledgeable. I am glad that I found him for my visit.

Was kind of thrown off when I first walked up to the desk and no one spoke or said hello or anything. Besides that it was an overall pleasant experience. I didn't have to wait long before I was called to the back. Everyone in the back was very kind and helpful and treated me with respect. Dr. Nickson was very helpful.

Dr. Nickson and his staff were fine. I just wished places wouldn't triple book their patients and make us wait for over an hour. If we make the effort to show up on time, we can only expect the same from the place where we set up the appointment. Maybe I'd suggest to let patients know that the appointments are running behind? Again, the staff were polite and Dr. treated me well.

The Dr greeted me politely and ask me questions concerning my knee problem. He pulled the laptop brought up my xrays and showed just where my problems are. He puposed a steroid shot in the bursitis sack.. He explained all his findings and he had male nurse to administer my shot in knee. He asked me if I needed anything else and I told him No. The Doctor was very kind and knowledgeable. I will recommend him to others.

I went in for a consultation about surgery for bunions and Dr. Nickson was so knowledgeable about everything. His staff were all very kind and caring, and his office was clean, organized, and decorated with his sons' cards/artwork which I love. I felt well taken care of and feel my surgery is in good hands with him!

Even though I was confirmed via email a staff member called me and let me know that they did not have that appointment available and if I wanted to be seen I would be treated as a walk in. I waited a very long time, as I was hearing the staff and Dr joking and chit chatting they didn't seem to care that I had a broken bone.

Took a while for the Doctor to come into the room once the nurse had checked me in. About 30 minutes. But once he got there, he was very friendly and conversational. Did not prescribe any more treatment than needed. Seems to really like his patients! (That might be why the wait was so long...I could hear him laughing and chatting with another patient).
