About Dr. Donald Mason

Dr. Mason was born and raised in the Chicagoland area. He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, and holds a Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago. While attending Palmer, he worked as a rehab intern in the clinic's rehabilitation center, helping rehabilitate soft tissue injuries and correct soft tissue instabilities. "I believe in looking at the overall function of the body and not just the spine. Muscles are attached to bones and vice versa. Through chiropractic adjustments, I can correct misalignments, but neglecting the soft tissue that moves those bones only facilitates the subluxations to come back." He also completed a series of seminars primarily focused on diagnosing and adjusting the joints in the arms and legs. During his time at Palmer, he participated in a clinic abroad trip to the island of Bequia in the Caribbean, where he and fellow classmates offered chiropractic care to a community with little to no healthcare access. In his spare time, he is an avid runner, having completed six marathons across all four corners of the country, and hopes to complete his first ultramarathon of 50 miles in the fall of 2016.
My location is just east of the North Ave Red Line by one block and just west of the Sedgwick Brown Line stop by three blocks. Parking is always available for free in one of our two lots.

Highly recommend Dr Don! I was having back pain for the first time ever and it took only a few sessions for Dr Don to have me completely fixed up. Not only did he do the stim, alignment, etc in office but he talked me through what was going in and gave me some great exercises to help in between appointments. He very patiently answered all my questions and listened to my concerns. Great experience all around!

When Zocdoc had scheduled my appointment, they scheduled me on a day that Dr. Mason wasn’t in the office. When Dr. Mason called to reschedule, the only day and time that fit my schedule was a day he was in the office, but was at a later time which he would’ve already left to go home. However, he offered to stay later at the office just so I would be able to come in.
Not only was this outstanding customer service on his part, but he also gave me many many tips and tricks on how to correct my posture and decrease my migraines (due to my neck and back). He went over a plan with me on things that I could do at home and things he could do during our sessions that would correct my neck and back problems.
Definitely a 12/10 experience. If you’re looking for somebody to go to, I highly highly recommend making an appointment with Dr. Mason!

Dr. Mason is personable and really listens to what you're dealing with to provide the best treatment. He's prompt without making you wait around, and the check-in on the tablet is so much better than the pages of paperwork I'm used to filling out! Pricing is also extremely reasonable.

He’s very intuitive your muscles’ activity in relation to your spine. He’ll make sure you’re aligned, relaxed and more attuned to your body. I had a good deal of stiffness in my neck and upper back, and I couldn’t really turn my head either direction, which wasn’t great for my theatre work. He found the issues with gentleness and has been working at them steadily with great results. Within a week, most of the pain was gone! Most importantly, he taught me exercises to help me prevent these issues going forward. Thanks, Doc!

He explained everything he was going to do, which was definitely a huge learning lesson for me as this was my first visit to a chiropractor. Additionally, my neck pain went away after my first visit. Dr. Mason was able to isolate the problem and knew exactly how to get rid of the pain. I walked into his office with barely any movement and walked out with my movement restored. He also recommends well being and suggested some simple exercises that can be done at home to strengthen the back. I have been following his advice for the past few months and the back/neck pain hasn't resurfaced. I would highly recommend Dr. Mason.
