Getting to know Donna Cross

Hi! I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner PMHNP) based in Covington, Georgia. I received my Masters from Walden University, Minnesota and have been practicing for the past 7 years as Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and over 14 years as Registered Nurse. I want my clients to have the aspirations, desires, and a vision that will allow them to grow and thrive in their respective communities. I have assessed, diagnosed, and treated the mental health needs of children, adolescents and adults struggling with mental health disorders to help and encourage them be the best versions of themselves. I am passionate about providing quality, evidence-base and affordable care. My goal as a provider is to deliver quality patient care with compassion and competence. I treat all clients with respect and dignity and strive to empower each client I treat, by combining my expertise with my commitment. Medication will act as an adjunct to the treatment plan.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I will use a combination of medication management and psychotherapy to get the best possible outcome with all clients.. Once the initiating of medication management, a follow up appointment in 2 weeks will be schedule to assess for side effects, efficacy and medication tolerance.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I work with clients who may be struggling with depression or trauma related to their relationships or family. During our initial sessions, we will delve deeply into the issues at hand, and collaborate to create a plan for addressing them in a way that helps you get your life back. Most of my clients see a gradual lifting of symptoms within the first month and sustained improvement thereafter."
