Getting to know Dorathy Robert

*** PLEASE NOTE: IN TEXAS, I AM UNABLE TO PRESCRIBE STIMULANT MEDICATIONS. BUT OTHER CONTROLLED MEDICATIONS CAN BE PRESCRIBED WHEN APPROPRIATE. THERE ARE NO STIMULANT PRESCRIBING RESTRICTIONS IN MARYLAND.*** I am a compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health provider licensed in Texas and Maryland, specializing in anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorders, and sleep disorders. I provide care for children, adolescents, and adults through both in-person and telehealth services. My approach combines evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing with compassionate, client-centered care. I strive to create a supportive and inclusive environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to improve their mental health and overall quality of life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I want new clients to know that they will be welcomed into a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where their concerns are genuinely heard and respected. I understand that seeking mental health care can feel overwhelming, and I strive to make the process comfortable, collaborative, and empowering. I approach every client with honesty, compassion, integrity, and empathy. My goal is to help individuals feel supported while working together to create realistic treatment goals that improve emotional wellness, daily functioning, and overall quality of life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process begins with building a strong therapeutic connection and gaining a thorough understanding of each client’s mental health history, symptoms, lifestyle, and personal goals. I conduct comprehensive assessments to identify concerns accurately and create individualized treatment plans tailored to each person’s needs. Treatment may include psychotherapy, medication management when appropriate, psychoeducation, discussion of medication side effects or lab results, and regular follow-up appointments to monitor progress. I believe in maintaining open communication and adjusting care plans as needed to ensure clients feel supported throughout their mental health journey.
