About Dorothy Green

My name is Dorothy Green, and I am a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with close to 30 years of nursing experience. I earned my Master's in Nursing from Texas Tech University. I have worked as a Registered Nurse since 1996. I was certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in 2007, during which time I served as an RN First Assist with an oncology surgeon. Since 2013, I have been a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. This means I am a registered nurse with an advanced degree in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients, including national certification and specialization in family, geriatrics, and women's health. I have been trained to perform examinations, order diagnostic tests, treat patients, and prescribe medication. I serve as a Primary Care Provider (PCP), providing health risk evaluation for all ages, preventive care, health education, wellness promotion, and referrals to other healthcare specialists. I prescribe treatment and medications according to the Texas Nurse Practice Act with a written agreement with a collaborating physician. Over the years, I have had the pleasure of managing general health conditions such as colds, flu, sinus infections, urinary infections, and respiratory infections. I also manage chronic health conditions including diabetes, blood pressure, obesity, minor depression, and heart disease. As a nurse, I believe in treating the patient as a whole, with health promotion and prevention at the core of my practice.
