Getting to know Doyinsola Abikoye
I'm a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I'm also a foreign-trained midwife. I've been in the healthcare industry for about 20 years. I'm passionate about mental health and I know each person's journey is unique, and so is my approach to care.
Supporting people mentally is something I do with ease. I'm able to provide the needed empathy for people to continue to be mentally healthy. A healthy life starts with a healthy mind, and that is my approach to care. I would like to be your mental health provider.
What should a new client know about working with you?
The journey of life can feel overwhelming without the right support. As a Psych Nurse Practitioner, I give my patients the right support to help them navigate the complexities of life. I believe in a holistic approach to mental health. It takes every aspect of the human life to work together, to have better mental health. I believe a mentally healthy person will have a healthy life and relationship with others, and that is what I offer my patients.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
I practice talk therapy. I take a holistic approach to take care of my patients. I love to do a root cause analysis of what might be responsible for the patient's present situation. I work with patients who have depression, anxiety, post-partum depression, perinatal depression, substance abuse, ADHD, and other psychiatric conditions.
