He even pulled up examples of the skin condition I had to help me understand what I had was a common issue. He spent the time to talk me through everything; he's not what you think of for other doctors when they see you for 10 seconds. I've never had a dermatologist like him and would recommend him to everyone. ”

About Dr. Edgar Martinez
Dr. Edgar Martinez is a board-certified dermatologist, and proud Texas native, born and raised in Fort Worth. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi, graduating summa cum laude while also competing at the Division I level in cross country and track and field. His dedication to both academics and athletics reflects the same commitment he brings to caring for his patients.
Dr. Martinez went on to complete his medical degree at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. During his time at UT Southwestern, he served as the clinical manager for the free dermatology clinic for underserved patients. He began his postgraduate training with an intern year at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington, before returning to Texas for his dermatology residency at the University of Texas in Austin. During his final year, he served as Chief Resident, a role that highlighted his leadership and dedication to excellence in patient care. He was the Golden Scalpel recipient, which was awarded to the resident who completed the most surgical cases over the span of dermatology residency. While in Austin, Dr. Martinez also served as the main liaison for the Austin Volunteer Health Clinic, where he provided care for uninsured and underserved patients after hours. His work there reflects his strong commitment to compassionate, community-centered care—a principle that continues to guide his practice today.
Now excited to return home to the Dallas–Fort Worth area, Dr. Martinez is honored to serve the community of Plano and surrounding areas. He offers comprehensive dermatologic care, including general dermatology, surgical procedures, and cosmetic treatments. He believes in a holistic, patient-centered approach, tailoring every treatment plan to meet each individual’s unique skin care needs. Dr. Martinez proudly serves both English- and Spanish-speaking patients, ensuring comfortable, inclusive, and accessible care.
