Dr. Nieuwenhuis joined his father in practice in 1992. They practiced together for 25 years until his father’s retirement. As Dr. Nieuwenhuis became established his reputation as an outstanding clinician grew. He has received numerous awards throughout the years. He has been voted top doctor in Bergen County for the last 15 years. He has also been voted top doctor in the State of New Jersey multiple times. He has served as the director of Podiatric Services at Valley hospital for many years. He is on the board of Healing the Children NJ and has been on many medical mission trips throughout South America and the Caribbean to operate on crippled children. He has been married to his wife Lori for 35 years, has 5 children and 5 granchildren.
