About Dr. Edward Shuherk

Board certified in family medicine, Dr. Shuherk's career began while he was studying for his bachelor's degree at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. While studying toward that degree, he was sent to Saudi Arabia where he served as a Marine corpsman in Desert Storm. During his tour, he performed medevacs and worked as a surgical technician. He later received his medical degree from the Roy and Lucille Carver College of Medicine in Iowa City, Iowa. After receiving his medical degree, Dr. Shuherk spent five years in Iowa working in rural medicine. While running his own practice, he also helped serve the medical needs of the town's nursing home. Looking to give back to men and women who serve in the U.S. military, he next worked with veterans in an outpatient clinic setting. Dr. Shuherk also practiced medicine in both an urgent care facility and as a concierge family physician. Each experience allowed Dr. Shuherk to develop a personal medical practice that facilitates building lasting relationships with each of his patients. "I love family medicine. I am passionate about building relationships with my patients and discussing their concerns without any judgment. I try to give them valuable information so we can sit down and have an open discussion about their health." Dr. Shuherk's varied medical background has influenced his areas of clinical interest including geriatrics, mental health and pediatrics. Currently, he is working on his occupational medicine certification.
