About Dr. Efime Popovitz

Dr. Efime Popovitz is a specialist in pain management who is dual board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. A native of Queens, NY, Dr. Popovitz attended the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education, a 7 year BS/MD program at the City College of New York. He then went on to complete both his anesthesiology residency and pain fellowship training at Yale School of Medicine. His fellowship training provided valuable experience in managing acute and chronic pain conditions using a multidisciplinary and multimodal approach. He has been involved in efforts to improve pain education amongst clinicians and has presented at several national conferences in anesthesiology and pain medicine. Dr. Popovitz’s expertise involves the management of chronic pain conditions ranging from back and neck pain to hip, knee and shoulder pain. He is skilled in both fluoroscopic and ultrasound guided procedures. Given the complexity of managing chronic pain, Dr. Popovitz understands the importance of individualizing a treatment plan while using a holistic and empathetic approach that balances medication management, procedural interventions and complimentary/alternative therapies (such as acupuncture and physical therapy).
