Getting to know Dr. Ekaete Lawal
Having a healthy and balanced mental well-being is very important and is an essential part of our lives. Hence, there should be no stigma in seeking consultation for your mental health. I hold a Post-Master's in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Pace University and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from New York University, which equip me to provide compassionate and expert care.
What should a new client know about working with you?
An intake session usually last for 45-60 minutes. This first visit is an introduction and also a chance for us to learn more about your presenting symptoms, current or past psychiatric and medical history and family history of psychiatric illness, if there are any.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
The initial session typically last for 45-60 minutes and follow up sessions last for approximately 20-30 minutes. My goal is to stabilize your symptoms hence your follow -up sessions frequency is set up pending on progress and response to treatment.

Apparently seemed like the NP was just looking for easy patient. She listened carefully so definitely a good listener and good bed side manners but said she won’t be taking me as patient because my case is too complicated for her to manage over the phone. I did offer to stop by the office but she only do televisit which does make sense given the speciality . Why be in speciality where you can’t even handle a simple case. Would not recommend
