Ms. Elexis Brown is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a deep passion for mental health and a commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care. Her nursing journey began at Trinity Washington University in Washington, D.C., where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She later advanced her expertise in mental health at Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota, earning a Master of Science in Nursing and becoming a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
?From the very beginning, her goal has been to give back to my community by delivering high-quality, evidence-based mental health care. Before transitioning into mental health, she built a strong foundation in critical care nursing, where she developed the clinical skills, empathy, and resilience that continue to guide her approach to patient care today.
She believes in a holistic, individualized approach that prioritizes each patient’s unique needs, ensuring they feel heard, supported, and empowered on their mental health journey. My dedication lies in fostering a safe and inclusive environment where patients can receive the care they deserve while working toward improved well-being and a better quality of life. This appointment was for my daughter. We absolutely LOVE Elexis. My daughter was scared at first (she’s 14) but at the end she said “it was like talking to a cousin or something.” She became that comfortable.
I love that Elexis let us know she’s there for medication management, but she wasn’t going to push that treatment on us. I truly appreciate that. Elexis is just an all around pleasant person to interact with!

Not gonna lie, I wasn’t super into the idea of seeing anyone at first. But something about Elexis just made it... not weird. She doesn’t talk at you, she talks with you. And suddenly you realize you’re healing and didn’t even notice when it started.
