About Dr. Elizabeth Gutmark

*Dr. Gutmark offers cosmetic services but requires a cosmetic derm consult first.* Dr. Elizabeth Gutmark is a gifted dermatologist serving patients from throughout Los Angeles. She has extensive training from some of the country’s most prestigious academic institutions and specializes in treatments for skin conditions ranging from psoriasis and eczema to acne and mole removal. She is experienced in cosmetic dermatology and licensed to provide cosmetic services such as Botox and chemical peels in addition to medical dermatology treatments and dermatopathology. Dr. Gutmark graduated summa cum laude from UCLA. She then attended medical school at one of the world’s leading medical institutions, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She completed her residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where Dr. Cayce served as one of her mentors. After residency, she joined the Department of Dermatology at UC Irvine as faculty before obtaining further subspecialty training at the University of Michigan in Dermatopathology. When she is not caring for her patients in the clinic, Dr. Gutmark enjoys spending time cooking, hiking and traveling with her husband. In addition to English, Dr. Gutmark is fluent in Spanish and Vietnamese. Dr. Gutmark is dedicated to providing the highest level of care to her patients in a compassionate and caring manner. I wouldn't recommend Dr. Gutmark to my worst enemy. She didn't ask me a single question and barely looked at my skin before dismissing my past experiences and diagnoses to tell me it's something that feels off-base. She walked in and immediately started suggesting treatments that just included a long list of prescriptions — many of which I'm already on or have tried before, which was communicated to the nurse beforehand. (Clearly, she didn't look at my chart.) She just disregarded my attempts to communicate about my experiences completely, bolstering her recommendation for whatever prescription I told her I've already tried, then moving onto the next. I was so rushed out that I didn't even have time to remember the other question I wanted to ask. There wasn't a single other person in the waiting room when I left. I'm genuinely shocked at my experience and can only hope she does better for future patients.

It’s busy in there, but I was seen under 30 minutes of waiting. The meeting was quick and she didn’t seem to be too worried about anything I was saying although I was looking for help. My blood tests are back but haven’t received a follow up yet. My symptoms are still severe and bothering me so I’ll have to see someone else now.
