Elizabeth Seebock, CCC - SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist
IL
Hi! I'm Elizabeth. I became a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) in 2014. I originally leaned toward becoming a teacher, but my direction changed when my best friend’s son was born with a cleft lip and palate. As I watched him grow and listened to my friend share stories about the early intervention SLP who worked with him, I felt drawn to the idea of making a similar impact. Once I began studying communication sciences and disorders in undergrad, my interest grew with each class. I was thrilled when I was accepted into a graduate program, knowing that I was on the right path. Over the past decade, I’ve been grateful every day for this journey. Helping people improve their communication skills—a gift many take for granted—has been deeply fulfilling. Whether I’m habilitating or rehabilitating communication abilities, I find tremendous meaning in helping my clients achieve their goals and thrive. Over the past 10 years, my continuing education has closely aligned with the needs of the clients I serve, allowing me to expand my expertise across a range of areas. I’ve deepened my knowledge in Autism, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), pediatric receptive and expressive language disorders, speech sound disorders, social language, fluency, and more. Additionally, I’ve focused on adult populations, studying topics like cognition, aphasia, acquired apraxia of speech, dementia, Parkinson's disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and adult dysphagia. This ongoing learning has helped me better support both pediatric and adult clients as they work toward their communication and cognitive goals. I have worked in general education, self contained special education, skilled nursing and rehabilitation, acute hospital, inpatient rehab hospital. I would describe my clinical style as holistic, functional, individualized/personalized, and rooted in client empowerment to create self-advocates.
