Went for an initial visit to establish care, yet Elke opened with “you’re here for a followup with me, right?” Very forgetful, to the extent that I guess she doesn’t even know who her patients are.
More importantly, dismissive and judgmental. Instead of listening, wants to run through a checklist of questions. When I provided context on some of my mental health struggles, she told me to “get to the point." I was taking a medication that my past psychiatrist prescribed, and it was helping with my symptoms and improving my quality of life. But because I wasn’t the textbook clinical case for the med, Elke criticized my med usage, told me I should do therapy instead, and ultimately tried to kick me off my prescription. Her approach, which seems limited to running through a script with no room for clinical judgment, struck me as highly unprofessional and demeaning.
