About Dr. Ellen Fitzenrider
"Dr. Ellen" is a 1991 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic, and is certified in acupuncture.
For many years she was the official chiropractor for the Virginia Arts Festival in Norfolk, Virginia, and served elite visiting artists and performers in music, theater, and dance from all over the world including the Moscow Ballet, Dance Theater of Harlem, Mark Morris Dance Group, and more.
Drawing from her many years of experience working with patients from a wide variety of backgrounds, Dr. Ellen has personal experience treating and co-managing conditions such as:
-disc-injuries,
-headache and migraine,
-acute and chronic back and neck pain,
-repetitive motion disorders,
-post-surgical lingering issues, and
-managing musculoskeletal functional and pain issues associated with many disease processes
She firmly believes that EVERYONE benefits from proactive chiropractic care, acupuncture, and massage. Education and making good choices are equally important to reaching and maintaining optimal health, not just those who are injured!
Dr. Ellen loves to help both casual and professional athletes, dancers, and others who rely on their body's maximum physical expression to perform at their best. She doesn't look at your body from a spine-only perspective, but believes that optimal health and wellness comes from a wholistic approach.

I went to this office for my first chiropractic experience and I’m so happy I did! Everyone is so kind and took the time to explain EVERYTHING to me. I had very little questions because everything was so thoroughly explained. They really make you feel liken they’re on your side, looking for a solution and listening to your needs.

Dr Ellen did a great job of adjusting me to help with shoulder pain and overall discomfort. I hadn't really considered chiropractic care before my wife went, and it helped her so much, I thought I should try it. I'm glad I did.
The office is convenient to get to--has free parking and is metro accessible. I never had to wait at all. She always runs on time.

Last summer, I developed some bad back/floating rib pain that had me lying down on the floor at work during breaks. After a few chiropractic sessions with Dr. Ellen I started noticing that my range of motion was much better. There were things I could do now--like hand my kids something in the back seat of the car--that I hadn't even realized I'd been avoiding due to pain. My work and home kept improving--I also hadn't realized how much of my cranky moods had been due to these aches and pains.
I saw the massage therapists at Body Harmony as well (I was able to use my FSA, since they are medical treatment massages!) and I continued to improve. The massages really helped Dr. Ellen adjust me even more.
Now I'm looking forward to this summer without pain and without being the grouch who can't run around with her kids on the playground.
