“I can't speak highly enough of Dr Ruiz's thoughtfulness and professionalism. Many doctors I've seen will quickly come up with the suggestion they think is best and then push for it, but Dr Ruiz was so open to discuss different options and send truly committed to finding the treatment plan that would work best for me.”

Horrible experience. highly would recommend someone more organized that can give their client's more attention.
Good doc. Listens and considers all options instead of just pushing his favorite meds like some seem to do.
He is great listener and is helping me get back on track with ADD medicine. I had almost lost hope.
Dr. Ruiz was great. Knowledgeable, attentive. Everything the one would expect. Stuff, was horrible

I can't speak highly enough of Dr Ruiz's thoughtfulness and professionalism. Many doctors I've seen will quickly come up with the suggestion they think is best and then push for it, but Dr Ruiz was so open to discuss different options and send truly committed to finding the treatment plan that would work best for me.
I waited 50 minutes past my appointment time, and was seen only after I informed the receptionist I would need to leave due to needing to return to work. It was easy to speak with Dr. Ruiz and I felt he established rapport quickly. However, this was my first session with Dr. Ruiz and I was prescribed a medication-- with the entire session lasting approximately 7 minutes. I looked several weeks out to book my second appointment, and it was cancelled by Dr. Ruiz within the same week I was to be seen. While he is a friendly psychiatrist, I overall find Dr. Ruiz' practice to be lacking professionally and I will not be returning.
Small office in a nice building. Cramped waiting area but very much worth the wait. Dr. Elvin was excellent and helped me get my much needed prescriptions filled. Had an informed conversation about my treatment needs and acted promptly. I plan to see him again.
Dr Ruiz is really great! I felt like he listened to me and wasn't checking the clock or trying to rush me out of there like other doctors have done before. I felt absolutely comfortable talking to him and would highly recommend him.
Great! Thank you for the great bedside manner.
My second time seeing him. Again very disorganized and very long wait. However his bedside manner along with his genuine care for my well being made up for it.
I waited 45 minutes despite having an appintoment. It was also incredibly difficult to communicate with the office to discuss my medication. The doctor was nice, but the office is fairly cramped and facilities are old. The office also does not provide a telephone number I can reach them at, and all correspondence has to be through an app. The responses have been rather slow, and for the last week, I have received zero response when my pharmacy and I have questions about my prescription. I will not be going back to this office.
Great guy. Unfortunately he was disorganized. In the end he recommended what I felt was a good treatment. I’ll be seeing him again.
He's great, very attentive and understanding and explained in detail the benefits and effects of the medication he prescribed. Wait time was about 45 minutes, but I also had to fill out the paperwork for my first visit, so that was expected. My only complaint is the phone system. You can't talk to a human, you're forced to send text messages through "Klara." This makes things difficult, especially if you need prior authorization for a medication. It took 6 days to get my prescription filled after they called it in the day of my appointment, because the pharmacy and the insurance company were both trying to call the office, to no avail.
He was nice, and I am satisfied with our meeting. However, the wait time mentioned in the other comments was no joke. I went in an hour after my scheduled appointment. Bring work to do in the waiting room and don't expect to linger with the doctor.
Very clear and practical doctor. Love it.

I waited for about 20 minutes until I was seen. The doctor made me feel comfortable and not judged. He is very knowledgeable and really wants to help! Highly recommend.

Overall he took the time to listen to me and explain in detail what I was experiencing. Made suggestions for alternative therapy as well as medicated suggestions. I would definitely go back but plan ahead for waiting time.

He’s great. His staff sucks. Very unorganized

Dr.Ruiz was great. I feel very lucky to have found him. After our first session I’m feeling hopeful and looking forward to continuing my treatment with him.

I really initially liked Dr. Ruiz. He’s extremely knowledgeable. That said, I will never go back to him due to the following. He’s extremely disorganized. He was supposed to refill a medication, and never did. (I had been seeing him for 6 months, so I wasn’t a brand new patient) I tried to get in touch with him for over a week, and couldn’t via email, or phone. (Even with an urgent message left) I understand he’s been having a difficult time finding a reliable receptionist, but this was inexcusable. When you’re prescribing patients medications that they need to be tapered off of, it’s extremely irresponsible/neglectful to forget to refill the medication, and go MIA.
This was THE most most unprofessional medical appointment I have ever experienced. I walked into the office to a very unwelcoming facial expression from his receptionist. He at the time, was assisting her with the processes of her job, which was thematic of the entire appointment. She asked me to fill out check in forms, which I had already filled out on Zocdoc; she couldn’t seem to locate them. Disorganization was another consistent theme. After Dr. Ruiz helped her find the forms, he had me wait by his office door, which was adjacent to another room with any patient undergoing some type of intense, machine-induced treatment - with the door wide open. No privacy. My appointment, was also conducted with the door wide open. Unbeknownst to me, several patients were right with us earshot being that the office is very small. Dr. Ruiz was very flustered, and could not find my paperwork and seemed like he struggled to get settled. Not things you want to experience when you’re about obese your soul to a “professional “. The most painful part of this, was the numerous amount of interest from his receptionist - Dr. Ruiz, I can find..., Dr. Ruiz, where is...?, Dr. Ruiz, I’m going to Starbucks, what’s your order? I felt completely violated and blatantly neglected. To top it off, it had been 1 1/2 weeks, and I still have not received my paperwork and follow up as promised. More damage than good was done during this visit and I will not be returning.

He is a real doctor who actually bothers to explain your condition and takes the time to ask you every relevant question. He is extremely professional and does not regard his patients as people not able to understand an explanation of how a medication works. He is very kind and very well suited for his profession.
I was absolutely taken aback by how thorough Dr Ruiz was... the amount of time he gave me was more than any doctor ever has. He asked very probing questions and took notes on everything I said. I've struggled with depression for so long, and I dont know if Dr Ruiz will have all the answers after a first appointment, but I will say that for the first time in my life i felt like a psychiatrist listened to me and tried to understand me instead of just generalizing and sticking me in a category after 20 minutes. I feel very appreciative. Feeling understood by a medical professional makes me feel better all in it's own!

Dr. Elvin was very friendly and I appreciated that he explained how the medications worked on a science-level. He was more thorough than other offices I've been to in the past.
Fantastic
First visit was short and sweet. Dr. Ruiz asked about my history and took copious notes as I spoke. He made me feel comfortable and like he actually cared. When talking about possible diagnosis he spoke in both scientific and layman's terms to ensure I was able to follow along. Very knowledgeable and relatable which was important for me.
Wonderful Doctor. He explained my treatment and how its going work very well. Uses scientific facts and medical knowledge. I look forward to getting better with his treatments.
I had to wait for a bit before being seen, and the office/waiting room was very small. Dr. Ruiz was very kind, but seemed quick to prescribe medication rather than get to know me as a patient. I did not end up going back.
