My path to medicine was deeply personal. Growing up, I visited my great-grandmother with dementia in her nursing home and developed an early appreciation for the compassion caregivers bring to people's lives. Watching people I love face health challenges made the calling impossible to ignore, and having two older sisters in the medical field showed me what a life dedicated to caring for others could look like. As a first-generation college student, I was determined to turn that passion into purpose. Working as a dietary aide in an assisted living facility and as a physical therapy aide showed me firsthand how attentive, personalized care can transform someone's day and their recovery. My undergraduate degree in public health gave me a strong foundation and that drove me to get involved early through volunteer work with underserved populations, mental health advocacy and sickle cell disease research. Family medicine was the natural choice because it allows me to build lasting relationships with patients across the lifespan, champion preventive health and serve as a trusted first point of contact for the community. I believe healthcare should be a partnership built on trust, respect and open communication. My goal is for every patient to feel heard and empowered to take an active role in their own well-being. Taking the time to see each person as a whole - not a single concern - means care is always delivered with empathy, cultural sensitivity and a commitment to evidence-based practice. Family is everything to me, especially time spent spoiling my two wonderful nieces. When I'm not in the clinic, you'll find me connecting with friends over karaoke or music bingo, taking my miniature Bernedoodle, Winston, to the dog park, traveling to new places or staying active with Pilates. Creative pursuits like baking, reading and interior design round out my life outside of work.
