Dr. Emily Bernstein is board certified in Adult Psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She has two decades of experience treating a wide variety of psychiatric illnesses using both psychopharmacology and individual psychotherapy. She has worked in crisis settings, outpatient settings, and as a consulting psychiatrist on hospital medical units. She strives to build a trusting relationship with patients and includes psychotherapy into medication management sessions. Dr. Bernstein has a strong interest in mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. She has experience and interest in managing women’s mental health throughout the pre-partum, pregnancy, and post-partum periods, as well as issues related to a woman’s life cycle. She offers medication management and psychotherapy to individuals 18 and older either in person at our Paoli, PA office or via telehealth. Dr. Bernstein graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She then proceeded to earn her medical degree and completed her psychiatry residency at The University of Pennsylvania’s School of Medicine. Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Licensed Physician and Surgeon in Pennsylvania Former Head of the Women’s Behavioral Health Program at Crozer Medical Center. Worked to establish the Psychiatric Residency Program at Crozer Medical Center. Chair of the Psychiatric Peer Review Committee at Crozer Medical Center for over 10 years.
