Emily Murray, PA-C

Physician Assistant
1926 Cotton Grove Rd, Lexington, NC
For as long as I can remember, I've known I wanted to help others. I thought about being a teacher or a daycare worker when I was very young. Then, when I was five years old, my paternal grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Watching her go through three years of treatment and seeing the care she received made me want to go into medicine to provide that high level of care to others. My maternal grandmother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer when I was a junior in college, and that further solidified my desire to work in medicine. I love working with my patients to improve their overall health. That begins with listening to their concerns, and understanding their lifestyle so together we can determine a treatment plan that will work for them. Ultimately, the best treatment plan is the one the patient can stick with, and that is largely dependent on their lifestyle, responsibilities and support available to them. I grew up in a small town with great family support, and to this day I am close to my relatives, both in my immediate family and my extended family. We spend as much time as possible together, and especially enjoy cooking and sharing delicious meals. My husband and I have a son, and plan to have more kids in the future. We're in the process of starting a small farm in the Asheboro area.
