“When seeing a mental health doctor in my profession there are so many fears. Dr Emily always makes me feel so welcome and comfortable while we talk. I really feel blessed to have found a doctor who is as easy to talk to as she is. I wish more mental health professionals had her demeanor, she doesn't make you feel uncomfortable or like you're in your principal's office. when going to have a session with her you feel like she's really listening and like she really cares. you need more doctors like her!”

“Dr. Shaw is a true gem. She took her time with me, listened to what I relayed to her, and was responsive to my needs and wants for treatment. I have ADHD since childhood and majior depressive disorder since my 20's. She is more intelligent and better prepared than some of the other psychiatrists/psychologists I've dealt with in my lifetime. I also get the feeling that she is genuinely concerned and rooting for my physical and mental health. ”

Emily Shaw is a Columbia University-trained psychiatric nurse practitioner with a Master's in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing. She specializes in depression and anxiety, substance use disorders, and developmental disorders in children and adolescents. Having worked at various hospitals-from Connecticut and New Orleans to New York City-Emily has experience treating a diverse range of populations with mental health conditions. She has led therapy groups and administered medications for adult patients with chronic pain and substance use disorders, assisted in the evaluation and treatment of adolescents with mood and psychotic disorders, and served as a psychopharmacology consultant in an outpatient psychiatry setting alongside primary care physicians and specialists.
