Emma D'Arpino, RD, LDN

Emma D'Arpino, RD, LDN

Dietitian
300 W Main St, Northborough, MA
Meet Emma (she/her). Two priorities within Emma’s approach to care include trust and vulnerability. Working to find peace and acceptance with food and our bodies requires unlearning the societal-norm of what our health and appearance “should be.” Given this, shame and guilt are often tied to the ways in which we take care of ourselves. Emma looks to work with her clients, guiding them to navigate and find understanding in their relationship with food and their bodies. This involves unconditional permission for them to show up for themselves and their values in life. Through a fat positive, Health at Every Size® (HAES®) approach, Emma works with her clients to find peace with food utilizing non-diet nutrition counseling. This can include dismantling disordered eating and chronic dieting, navigating a new chronic illness through medical nutrition therapy, intuitive eating, and body acceptance and liberation. Emma is a queer, fat positive, non-diet Registered Dietitian (RD) and a Masters in Health Professions Education (MS-HPEd). She is also a Certified Intuitive Eating Counseling (CIEC). She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Simmons College with a minor in photography and her Masters from MGH Institute of Health Professions. She completed her Dietetic Internship at Aramark Healthcare in Philadelphia, PA. Returning to the Massachusetts area, Emma’s work in dismantling fatphobia and diet culture began in the clinical setting at UMass Children’s Medical Center. In 2019, she began her work in private practice and has since fully transitioned to this space. In 2020 she took her passion for this work into academia. She is currently in MGH Institute of Health Professions’ PhD program and a Teaching Assistant at Harvard Extension School. Her strongest aspiration as a healthcare provider is to facilitate change within education by providing an evidence-based, safe, ethical space for individuals in all bodies.
