About Dr. Emrys Hamidi

Emrys Hamidi, MD, is an attending physician at the McLeod Clarendon Emergency Department and the McLeod Dillon Emergency Department. Dr. Hamidi received her Medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina and completed her residency in Family Medicine at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC, where she received training in broad-spectrum Family Medicine. In addition to the standard training received by all Family Medicine residents, Dr. Hamidi gained additional experience managing a high-volume ICU, providing patient care in the Emergency Department setting, delivering gynecologic care to women of all ages, and caring for acute patients in the inpatient setting. She has training in Point of Care Ultrasound, including FAST scan and emergency bedside ECHO, and is certified in ACLS, ALSO, PALS, and BLS. Dr. Hamidi earned her undergraduate degrees in History and Spanish and Latin American Caribbean Studies from the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC, graduating summa cum laude. Fluent in Spanish, she has been extensively involved with medical outreach within the Hispanic community, where language and cultural disparities often create barriers to adequate medical care. She is passionate about working to eliminate disparities and is actively involved in promoting increased inclusivity of historically underserved communities within the traditional medical establishment.
