Getting to know Eric Laitman

The provider is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and is currently working under the supervision of a licensed practitioner. Their current employer is Remarkable Services. Therapy should be a place where you can say what’s on your mind without fear of judgment. During our sessions, you're in the driver's seat, and I'm right there beside you, your family and/or partner as we explore the twists and turns of your inner world(s). Along the way, I draw on what I call my 'superpowers' which are the combinations of my lived experience with OCD and ADHD which give me a unique ability to pick up on subtle patterns and details along with my trainings in psychoanalysis, CBT (ACT, ERP), somatic work, dissociation, etc. which enable me to step back and see the bigger picture as we get to the root of issues instead of just alleviating symptoms. I've also lived a few lives before becoming a therapist. My background spans careers in banking and software, counseling in school systems in Compton, working community clinics with couples and families, teaching yoga and supporting veterans through counseling. These varied experiences help me connect with clients who are navigating major life transitions, searching for a deeper sense of purpose, or struggling with panic and overwhelm. Finally, I welcome feedback like “do more of this” or “less of that” because therapy isn’t like other relationships — you don’t need to worry about formalities or protecting my feelings. Together, we won’t just manage symptoms; we’ll work toward real, lasting change. Looking forward to working with you!

What should a new client know about working with you?

My goal is to help you feel heard and understood. I take a collaborative strength-based approach to therapy, which means we will work together to explore your goals and identify individual strategies that work best for you. Therapy is a personal journey, and we will go at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Please notice that I will contact you by email and phone call prior to our appointment to share the link to our session and for a brief consultation.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In the beginning we focus on building our therapeutic relationship, helping us create a plan for our work together. Sessions will be guided by your needs and goals as we will explore your thoughts, emotions and behaviors as we introduce tools and/or strategies that may support you. As we proceed, we will reflect on your progress, as the goal is help you feel supported while building the skills and insights you need to create a healthier life.
