With over 25 years of experience as a sports medicine specialist, Dr. Eric Small manages all aspects of the athlete (sports injuries, sports concussion, return to play). He is employed by the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. As a pediatric sports medicine specialist, he knows how to examine and treat young athletes in ways that enable them to relax, cooperate and perform at elite levels.
Dr. Small received his medical degree from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. Subsequently, he completed an internship and a residency in pediatrics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University, Montefiore Medical Center. Furthermore, Dr. Small completed a fellowship in pediatric exercise medicine at McMaster University, Children's Exercise and Nutrition Centre, followed by another fellowship in pediatric sports and dance medicine at Harvard University, Boston Children's Hospital.
Dr. Small has authored over thirty journal articles in his field of specialization and has made thousands of presentations at local, national and international meetings. He is an avid athlete, coach, and mentor to aspiring young physicians.
