About Eric Starr
Choosing a career in healthcare came naturally to me. From early on, I knew I wanted to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others, and family medicine gave me the opportunity to do exactly that. What draws me most to this specialty is the chance to build lasting relationships with patients and support them through every stage of life. My approach to care begins with listening. Before anything else, I want to understand what each patient is experiencing, what their goals are and what matters most to them. From there, I focus on treating the whole person, considering all aspects of health and wellness to develop individualized care plans that support long-term well-being. In addition to my clinical training, I hold a Master of Public Health degree and have completed additional training in urgent care. I also serve as an Epic superuser, helping to support the effective use of electronic health records to enhance patient care and improve clinical workflows. At Novant Health, we believe that efficient, well-coordinated care makes a real difference for patients, and that commitment extends to every part of how our team operates. The relationships I build with patients are what make this work so fulfilling. Being part of a profession that allows me to serve individuals and families throughout all stages of life is something I don't take for granted.
