Getting to know Dr. Eric Yellin

As a psychologist, my goal is to help you better understand and overcome the obstacles you face and ultimately lead the happy and fulfilling life you deserve. I utilize evidence-based psychotherapy tailored specifically to you and your needs. Therapy is by no means an easy endeavor, but I strive to provide an environment that is both supportive and challenging. In doing so, I believe I can help you cope, develop and maintain satisfying relationships, and achieve the meaningful and long-lasting change you want. I am an experienced therapist, supervisor, and teacher. In my practice, I work with adults and adolescents as individuals, couples, and families dealing with depression, anxiety, interpersonal conflict, grief, and adjustment issues. I earned my PsyD and Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University and hold a Bachelor’s degree from Rochester Institute of Technology.

What should a new client know about working with you?

At the heart of my approach to therapy is the development of a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental environment. Together, we will work through the challenges you face, explore conflicts, develop greater insight, and improve your ability to cope. My goal is to help you to achieve meaningful and long-lasting change. While I have seen hundreds of clients across different settings, I remain humbled by the strength and bravery of every individual, couple, or family who sits with me, taking the risks inherent in growth and allowing me to be a part of their journey. My greatest reward is when my clients feel more in control of their lives and live in a way that is truly satisfying. From a technical standpoint, my approach draws upon various clinical theories and techniques, such as psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapies. Our therapeutic encounter will be uniquely tailored to meet your individual needs and help you to reach your individual goals.

Dr Yellin is a fantastic therapist. He is an excellent listener who provides pragmatic guidance. He is very responsive and compassionate. I highly recommend.
Dr Yellin was very helpful to my son, helping him through difficult times, often going above and beyond. I recommend his services.
I am a huge fan of Dr. Yellin. I was a patient of his for a year and he had helped me tremendously, not only during the year I saw him, but after treatment as well. He made me feel comfortable about therapy, as I was hesitant at first. Dr. Yellin is incredibly professional and making the first step of reaching out to him was one of the better decisions I’ve made. Thank you, Dr. Yellin - highly recommend!
Dr. Yellin is an incredible psychologist and I’m so fortunate to have found him. He gives the perfect balance of compassion and humanity & straightforward observations and questions that cut through to the heart of the matter. I’ve seen him off and on for the past 6 years and I’m happy to say that I’m better for it. He has really helped me uncover deep unconscious beliefs and patterns that I was completely unaware of, which were having a negative impact on my relationships and overall well-being. He is very professional yet very warm, which is a hard thing to come by in my experience with therapy. He is also incredibly knowledgeable with expertise in a broad range of concerns I’ve dealt with throughout the years. My relationship with myself and others has improved significantly since we began working together and the experience has been invaluable. Can’t recommend enough.
Dr. Yellin was a huge help getting me through a rough time. He made it easy to talk and think about things I probably didn't want to but definitely needed to. I always looked forward to our sessions, even if they weren't always easy.
Incredibly helpful!
