Getting to know Erica Tilus
Hey there! I'm Erica, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a Master's in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Walden University, but more importantly-a human being who gets it. Mental health isn't just a profession for me-it's a purpose. I created DEMAC Healthcare to offer a space where people, especially those in underserved and overlooked communities, can show up fully and feel seen, supported, and celebrated.
I'm a proud Black woman (and yes, I wear my natural curls like a crown most days). I grew up knowing what it means to be strong, but also what it means to carry too much for too long. That's why I do what I do-not to “fix” anyone, but to help you heal, grow, and thrive on your own terms.
I believe in blending clinical excellence with a whole lot of heart-and maybe a little humor too. Life is heavy enough without your mental health provider being a robot, right? So yes, I'll talk DSM-5 and medications with you-but I'll also laugh with you, cheer you on, and maybe even remind you to drink some water and mind your business (therapist-approved advice).
In my practice, you can expect:

Care that honors your identity, culture, and lived experiences
Outside the office, you'll find me sipping overpriced coffee, binge-watching crime documentaries like I don't already have enough stress (I'm still learning, okay?).

DEMAC Healthcare is the best place to go for your mental health and physical health needs. They are so personable and go out of the way to listen to your needs and tailor treatment that is most beneficial to you. They really care and you hardly find that in health care these days. The owners and hands on and make sure everyone that walks in feels special and cared for. They helped my dad multiple times and I am so grateful to have found DEMAC. Try them out and thank me later!

Erica was great with helping my anxiety and stress. We were able to get to the root of my issues and figure out a plan that worked well for me and my personal values. She didn’t push meds and we had a couple visits to really talk about the best plan for me. Recommend to those who want to take things slow and figure it out.
