About Erik Munoz

Over the last 7 years I have gone from being a medical student to a medical graduate with 3 years of training with US physicians in US hospitals in Nevada, Arizona and Texas. At the beginning of last year I had the opportunity to start working as a Physician Assistant in Texas, and now I’m bringing that knowledge and experience with me to Arizona.

First impressions are everything. This office cancelled my appointment without any notification. I drove 30 minutes to get there. I was told they tried calling the day before to cancel it (for some unknown reason) but I had zero incoming calls from anybody that day. The portly receptionist with curly hair didn’t even have the courtesy to make eye contact or get out of the chair, just yelled my name across the front office (privacy matters to some people), then she said I wasn’t there 30 minutes early, but I was never told to be. I was 15 minutes early. She also said they can’t see me in that time slot for a new patients. So why did they let me make the appointment then? It was a “New Patient” appointment. Zocdoc isn’t off the hook either. Though they gave me the “new patient” option, they should have a record of time slots in their system to account for this. Also, doctors’ offices should be able to communicate to patients through Zocdoc. Hope this helps somebody.
