Getting to know Erika Leo
After scheduling your appointment with Zocdoc, you will receive two additional emails. The first is from Headway, which handles billing and insurance. To ensure your visit is covered and authorized by your insurance-and to avoid being rescheduled-it's imperative that you input any necessary information into Headway as soon as possible. The second email will be from Charm EHR, inviting you to set up your patient portal. Within this portal, you will find intake forms to complete electronically within 24 hours of your appointment. The Charm patient portal is also where you will access your telehealth visit by clicking on the green camera icon.
I am board certified as both a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) with 25 years of nursing practice. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1997, my Master's in Family Nursing Practice from the University of Miami in 2015, and a Post-Master's Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Liberty University.
What should a new client know about working with you?
As a double board certified practitioner, I have a solid understanding of how the mind and body interact, creating both emotional and physical symptoms. My focus is on delivering genuine and compassionate care, utilizing medication and non-medication based treatments to optimize overall wellness. My clients will finish our visit feeling hopeful, knowing that I am on their team, and they have someone who genuinely cares about helping them. At Harbor Village Mental Wellness you will receive quality, individualized, culturally sensitive care, from a provider who truly wants to help make a difference in your life. Our focus will be on evaluation and medication management of psychiatric illnesses. Optimizing physical and mental wellness is our goal, and to achieve the best results, I highly recommend therapy as a first line, with medications as an augmentation. If you are not currently under the care of a therapist, we can work together to find one who is a good fit. Our sessions will include brief supportive therapy, tools to increase relaxation, mange depression and anxiety, education on your diagnosis and medications, and ordering any further testing to be used in diagnosing and managing your mental health.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Your initial consultation will consist of an in depth interview, multiple screening tools, with recommendations, and education lasting approximately 60-90 minutes. Working together, we will create a personalized treatment plan based on our discussions, assessment tools, and evidence-based guidelines. Follow up medication management visits will be scheduled on an individual basis, and will last approximately 30 minutes. All clients are all given a HIPAA compliant texting number, so they may reach us between appointments with quick questions or issues that cannot wait until their next visit.

I have tried to book several appointments and never was able to be successful to speak with someone and the day that I had an appointment with her it was a little bit of a challenge of sign on but she was very patient with me and once we were able to resume in the session It was what I needed at that moment Because that day happens to be a very challenging day for me, BUT I felt Very comfortable with her and she was very patient and understanding and by the end I felt much better because I'm really needed that session that day And I look forward to continue to meet with her.
